Her wide-ranging experience includes a term as Executive Director of the Maryland Democratic Party, Vice-President of the Education Commission of the States and service as a trustee on a variety of community boards serving institutions as diverse as the Baltimore Museum of Art and the University of Maryland Medical Systems.

Prior to joining the Artemis Group, Ms. Hoffman was in a staff position at The Johns Hopkins University. She holds numerous civic and public service awards and honors and has been recognized for the last five years as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women.

Barbara Hoffman was elected to the Maryland State Senate four times, serving nearly 20 years. For the past eight years she served as the Chairman of the Budget and Taxation Committee and partnered with the Maryland executive branch to guide the state’s budget and tax policy. Ms. Hoffman is a nationally recognized expert in state budget allocations.
